[work] is a long-term performance series by the international performance collective YOU ARE GROUP as part of the artist residency program of CfL at Haus Rüschhaus. For their performance series YOU ARE GROUP explores the topics of work / labour both as a general socio-economic topos and as a reflection of their own processes of group rehearsal and performance. During their time in Rüschhaus, they engage with different modes of artistic research, combining their own practices of language performance and choreography with site-specific investigative and documentary practice. The latter includes dialogue and collaboration with people who work at Rüschhaus and Burg Hülshoff, an examination of archival material, focusing on historical labour relations, as well as a retracing and reenactment of given situations.
