Welcome to the Droste Salon! With a diverse schedule of programming including music and recitations, presentation and a collage of language, Paula Berdrow, Lena Bodenstedt and Michael Holz place their focus on the poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff and her female companions, the poets and thinkers of the 19th century.

**Annette von Droste Hülshoff, also known as Anna Elisabeth Franziska Wilhelmina Adolphina Louise Maria Freiin von Droste zu Hülshoff. Wanted to write and did. Against the resistance of her family, without a pseudonym, without allowing herself to be dictated themes or forms.

Elise Friederike Felicitas von Hohenhausen, later Rüdiger, close confidante of Droste, to whom she was linked by a full-blown correspondence. Salonière and literary reporter.

Sibylla Katharina Elisabeth Busch, later Schücking. Childhood friend and literary idol of Droste. Caused a scandal by publishing poems in an anthology. As a young, unmarried woman! Unimaginable at the time, at least for some.

The trio of the "drey Elisabeth" is complemented by a trio of artists. We bring the researched material to life in different ways: singing, reading and reciting, explaining and questioning - and of course in conversation with the audience!
We set the poet Annette von Droste Hülshoff as the focal point. A poet who is naturally interested in the literary events of her time. Who seeks exchange, with poets and connoisseurs (very well researched), but also with female poets, connoisseurs like Katharina Busch and Elise Rüdiger.
Through their letters and poems, we trace the connections to these lesser-known, writing women. Explore with the audience how they determined their point of view as women writers and influenced each other in the process.

Paula Berdrow (speaker and tour guide at Hülshoff Castle and Rüschhaus) conceived the event.

Michael Holz (speaker and musician) accompanies the Droste Salon on the piano and contributes Droste settings.

Lena Bodenstedt (speaker and rhetoric trainer) guides the audience through the evening.
