Four locations, four elements, four films: the animated films Submerge, Spark, Sprout and Suspend by Anna Kohlweis each refer to one location of the festival: Burg Hülshoff, Haus Rüschhaus, the Droste Landscape: Poetry Path and the internet. They are love letters to dreamy spaces and their histories, anchor points in the placelessness of the digital sphere. Annette von Droste-Hülshoff’s furniture, details from the architecture, portrait paintings, wallpaper and park landscapes find themselves underwater, overgrown, interlaced and worn on the body, building a bridge between virtual and physical space.
