Odila Triebel is Head of Dialogue and Research Culture and Foreign Policy at ifa (Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations). She studied Modern German Literature, Philosophy and Public Law in Heidelberg, Sussex (UK) and Berlin and received her PhD in International Cultural Studies at the European University Viadrina, Frankfurt (Oder) in the framework of the Research Training Group "Representation-Rhetoric-Knowledge" with Anselm Haverkamp, second referee Samuel Weber, on the political fictionality of E.T.A. Hoffmann. She taught at Rice University in Houston/Texas and worked in the field of foreign cultural and educational policy, including in Estonia, before joining ifa in 2010. She is a conference curator and responsible for the ifa-Edition Culture and Foreign Policy and the ifa-Input series. She is the initiator of the International Cultural Relations Research Alliance ICRRA and publishes on fundamental concepts of international cultural relations.
