Mara Genschel lives as a writer and performer in Berlin. For many years she has been working on independent publication concepts and performance forms, again and again in the fields of new music and visual arts. In print, the site-specific brochure series Pretending to be in Dessau (Bauhaus Dessau Foundation) appeared most recently, in radio How to celebrate a Meister (SWR2 JetztMusik, 2021). Increasingly, she also creates video works, such as Das narzisstische Publikum (2021) as performative hybrid forms, in which she often critically ironizes the roles and behavioral patterns supposedly assigned to her.
