Lucie Marsmann (*1982, Wuppertal) is a visual artist and photographer living in Berlin. In her artistic work she often deals with the theme of identity. For years she has been working with archival material and the photographic legacy of her maternal grandparents.
Lucie Marsmann studied photography and media in Bielefeld, where she was an active member of the Bielefelder Künstlerhaus and Artists Unlimited association from 2006 - 2019. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally.
For Oona Kastner's concert at the Droste Festival 2022, Lucie Marsmann's video work according to our time, 2021 will be shown as a fluid stage set. The work thematizes in an associative way the worldwide extinction of animals and plants. Pictorially, a mixture of real animal, plant and landscape representations, fictitious laboratory situations, curious natural events and confusing associations to flora and fauna is created.
