Leopold von Verschuer, who grew up bilingually in Brussels, moves between theater, literature and radio art. His preference is for the oblique sounds of "impossible" texts, which he realizes as an actor, director and translator in German and French-speaking countries. His translations from French have been published by Alexander Verlag, Theater der Zeit and Matthes & Seitz. He has a special collaboration with the authors Valère Novarina (since 1994) and Kathrin Röggla (since 2001). He has performed and/or directed them in Cologne, Paris, Avignon, Vienna, Graz, Lisbon, Düsseldorf, Mülheim, Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne and Berlin, among other places. He has realized radio plays for Bayrischer Rundfunk and Deutschlandradio Kultur, most recently in 2016-2018 the three-part Die Rede an die Tiere by Valère Novarina and in 2019 the poetry radio play Luna Luna by Maren Kames.
As Valère Novarina's German translator, Verschuer participated in the first two editions of the République des traducteurs in Paris, in 2011 at the Odéon Théâtre de l'Europe and in 2019 at La Colline Théâtre National.
