Katja Sonnemann works as a freelance producer, lecturer, mentor and consultant. She is the initiator and director of the AKADEMIE for Producers of the Performing Arts in the Bündnis Internationaler Produktionshäuser e.V.. After studying Applied Theater Studies in Giessen, she was a play planner at the Schaubühne and the Gorki Theater in Berlin and artistic production manager at the 2005 Theater der Welt festival in Stuttgart. Since 2010 she has been working as a freelance producer in the field of independent performing arts (among others with Rimini Protokoll and andcompany&Co.) and is involved in various national and international networks. She gives workshops and seminars and advises artists and companies in different countries with a focus on producing in the free performing arts, forms of collaboration and international cooperation.
