Katja Fischer is an architect. She is part of the founding team of IBA Thuringia, co-author of the IBA Feasibility Study and IBA Project Manager since 2011. After studying in Weimar and Rotterdam, she taught and researched in the field of housing and urban and spatial development from 2004 to 2011 and was a visiting professor at WAAC in Washington D.C./Alexandria (US) and at Bauhaus University Weimar. Since 2015, she has been managing the IBA project Eiermannbau in Apolda, under the auspices of the IBA Thuringia, and is responsible for the conversion and experimental use formats in the former industrial building. Since 2017, she has been the program manager of the IBA Thuringia and has curated, among other things, the IBA interim presentation in the Eiermannbau Apolda 2019.
