Kathrin Röggla (born 1971 in Salzburg) is a writer living in Berlin.

She has published numerous volumes of prose, most recently Nachtsendung. Unheimliche Geschichten (2016), essays such as Die falsche Frage. Über Theater, Politik und die Kunst, das Fürchten nicht zu verlernen (2015), and numerous theater texts, most recently Normalverdiener (2017), as well as radio plays and a documentary film (ZDF).

She has been awarded numerous literary prizes for her literary work, including the Arthur Schnitzler Prize (2012) and the Nestroy for best play (2011).

Between 2001 and 2011 she traveled extensively, including Georgia, Iran, Central Asia, USA, Japan, Yemen, India, China.

Kathrin Röggla is a member of the Academy of Language and Poetry in Darmstadt and the Academy of Arts in Berlin, of which she has been vice president since 2015.
