Iuditha Balint is a literature and cultural studies scholar and, since 2018, director of the Fritz Hüser Institute for Literature and Culture of the Working World. She studied German and philosophy in Mannheim and Heidelberg and was awarded her doctorate in 2015 with the dissertation Erzählte Entgrenzungen. Narratives of Work at the Beginning of the 21st Century. She will be Max Kade Visiting Professor at the University of Cincinnati next spring 2022.
Research interests: Literature of labor in the 17th, 18th, and 21st centuries, literature and economics, conceptual history and historical semantics, metaphor theory.
