Gadi Goldberg was born in Israel in 1972 and has lived in Germany since 2001. He translates German literature and philosophy into Hebrew, including texts by Erich Maria Remarque, Wolfgang Koeppen, Arno Schmidt, Joseph Roth, Hugo v. Hofmannsthal, Jacob Wassermann, Uwe Timm, Clemens Setz, Saša Stanišić, Clemens Meier, Robert Menasse, Felisitas Hoppe, Maxim Biller, Barbara Honigmann, Karen Duve, Kathrin Röggla, Kurt Tucholsky, Günther Anders, Rosa Luxemburg, Hannah Arendt, Kant, Hegel, Schopenhauer and many others.
With Anne Birkenhauer he directs the de.-heb. Vice Versa Translators' Workshop. He is a member of the jury of the TOLEDO Mobility Fund and the Berlin Senate Scholarships for non-German authors.
