Cico Beck, born in 1984, first studied special education at the LMU Munich after his Abitur at the music high school in Eichstätt and his civilian service in the care of people with mental disabilities. After his state examination, he studied music at the Musikhochschule Münster in the class of Prof. Stephan Froleyks, majoring in percussion, minoring in piano and focusing fundamentally on composition and improvisation. Alongside his studies, Beck was intensively involved in electronic and independent music and has since produced numerous recordings, which have been released on the labels Morr Music, Alien Transistor and Sub Pop.
Several trips took him to Africa and Asia, which he used to receive lessons in the respective traditional music.
Since 2010 Beck has been a freelance composer and musician, writing and performing music for theater and dance productions (Ruhrtriennale, Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Residenztheater München, Berliner Ensemble, Staatstheater Nürnberg, Volkstheater München, and. v.a.), cinema and television films (arte, ZDF, ARD, BR,...) and is active in numerous bands (The Notwist, Aloa Input, Joasihno, Ms. John Soda, Rayon, You + Your Dead Metal Friend, Spirit Fest...) playing concerts worldwide.
