Mezzo-soprano Bettina Bruns studied performance art with Maria Abramović at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg. She received her classical vocal training with Sabine Kirchner at the Hamburg University of Music and Ruthild Engert Ely in Berlin. She has performed as a singer at the Thalia Theater and Opera Stabile in Hamburg, as well as at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm in Berlin, among others. Bettina Bruns has worked on live voice performances e.g. at the Akademie der Künste Hamburg and for SWR in collaboration with Christoph Grund and Birthe Bendixen. As a member of various ensembles she is mainly active in the field of new music.
