Franziska Gänsler is a guest in a shared flat in Münster and reads from her debut novel Ewig Sommer. It is about a young mother and her daughter who spend their holiday in an almost abandoned hotel. Since the fires raged in the neighbouring forest, the former health resort has lost its charm. For Iris, the owner of the hotel, the unexpected visit is both a welcome change and a cause for concern: something seems to be wrong with the stranger. Is she on the run from her husband? Should she help the woman who doesn't always seem to take proper care of her daughter? Or should she protect the child from her? Over time, the two women grow closer and begin to illuminate the shadows of their past.
