A rhizome is a rootstock. The Canadian project sees language and text as roots that branch out further and further in the language system during translation. The project is now touring Europe and will also be visiting us. Poet, translator and sound artist Oana Avasilichioaei will be reading and performing poetry together with visual artist, video artist and poet Carol-Ann Belzil-Normand and Innu poet Marie-Andrée Gill. Odile Kennel will read the German translations. Afterwards, the performers will talk about the translations: from language to performance, from writing to orality, from sound to writing.
