not dying

The author Ingeborg Bachmann wrote the Todesarten-Project towards the end of her life. In it, Bachmann describes the ways in which fascism and colonialism have entered social DNA as thought structures. In the exhibition not dying at Haus Rüschhaus, protagonists from the visual arts and literature engage with the texts. The exhibition shows positions that also deal with these forms of violence in the past and present and take a clear stance against them. Even if we cannot speak of an end to fascist and colonial structures 50 years after the author's death, we can recognise that resistance to them is just as unlikely to die out.
