The concept of planetarity has become increasingly important in recent years in order to understand how humans interact with and are present on their host planet today. In their book Planeten Denken (Merve, 2024), authors Armen Avanessian and Daniel Falb interpret the present as a moment of extreme natural-historical acceleration. According to them, planetarity is not an object that stands before us, but a force that is at work within our lives as we construct our biographies: ‘Planetarity is almost synonymous with intimacy.’
